Another concept similar to the Twilight sparkle design though to better reflect Rainbow dash's species as a pegasus I opted to have the mech look very light and agile.

I still need to work on a back view for this one as well as thinking of a weapon system that would suit her personality.

I'd have to say that this "Rainbow Dash" Mecha is better than your "Twilight Sparkle" Mecha. The over-all look of the mech is more solid, yet still feels like it could fly. You got what you were shooting for in making it look lite and agile, but solid enough to take a beating. It's clear who that mech is designed for and it exudes the kind of attitude that Dash has: "I'm awesome and 20% cooler than anything you can throw at me." At the same time, someone who wasn't familiar with FIM could still look at this and say "That's really cool!"

I'd have to say a long telescoping cannon and a large beam saber would work.

Add in some transformation function to turn her into a jet and some powerful shields for ramming people in jet mode.

Beam swords for sure, seeing as how Gundam-themed this is. This is the best ponyfied Gundam I've ever seen with your Twilight version right behind it; can't wait for Flutters and Rarity.
